Benue FRSC confiscates motorcyclists over crash helmet

Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Benue State Command has seized over 200 motorcycles from commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as okada who refuse to observe the use of crash helmet, as directed by the Federal Government, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital

Mr. Sobowale Gbenga-Oke, the Sector Commander of the Corps has admonished that the command would not relent to prosecute any lawbreakers.

Briefing newsmen in Markudi, Gbenga-Oke after his speech to the officers of the command on the issue, he stressed that the state Command is on full force to ensure absolute compliance and enforcement, as a Federal policy.

MR. Sobowale also declared that there is no room for grace any longer, he hinted that the FRSC, Benue State command would not relent from the directive, alarming that except Benue, all states of the federation have complied with the use of crash helmet. He however recalled grace given to the operators in the state to acquire protective gear
