Owukpa community in tears, loses top philanthropist

Owukpa, a community in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue was on Thursday thrown into mourning following the death of one of its top philanthropists, James Ameh John.

Mr. Ameh passed on in Makurdi, the Benue State capital after a protracted battle with undisclosed ailment.

The deceased was until his demise an officer with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Abuja.


James would be remembered for his kind heart towards the less privileged in the society, especially widows.

It would be recalled that the late lamented James in 2002 clothed no fewer than 200 widows in Udaburu Ugbugbu Owukpa.

He’s survived by aged parents, Engr. & Mrs. John Ameh Agbochini, the oldest man in Ugbugbu Owukpa and wife, Monica.
