Mixed reactions greet David Mark’s ‘Man of the Year’s Award’

Reactions have continued to greet the conferment of the Man of the Year on Senate President, David Mark Independent Newspapers.

The paper had already announced  that Mark, will will on Thursday, May 21, be honoured by the Board and Management of Independent Newspapers Limited in an investiture billed for Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

The investiture is in recognition of the excellence with which he has managed the affairs of the Senate in the last eight years. Since becoming the president of the Senate 0n June 6, 2007, amidst the volatility that is the hallmark of the National Assembly, Senator David held forth in the Upper Chambers with exemplary maturity and historic success.

He also enjoys the unique distinction of being one of the longest serving members of the National Assembly, having been sworn into the Upper Chambers in May 1999.

Some persons who while reacting to the development, described the award as a trash, saying that the senate leader did not do anything to merit such honour.
