Ortom's aide tears Tsav apart

The Special Adviser to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom on Media and Information and Communication Technology, ICT, Mr. Tahav Agerdzua, has tongue lashed retired former Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, over his unguarded statements against the Ortom-led administration.
Mr. Agerdzua, who was reacting yesterday in Makurdi to the barrage of unfounded claims credited to Alhaji Tsav on efforts of the Benue State government to stem the tide of insecurity, by asking those in possession of weapons to submit them for cash rewards.

He decried the lukewarm attitude of the former police boss who often cast aspersions and denigrate every credible moves by his selected perceived enemies, while ignoring wrong doings right under his nose.

He said for anyone worth his salt, such a person should rather than vilify the efforts of the present administration in its quest to curtail arms proliferation, commend government’s efforts. Mr. Agerdzua wondered aloud why in the eight years reign of the immediate past Governor Gabriel Suswam, despite glaring cases of maladministration, Alhaji Tsav never found it explicit to criticise the actions and policies of the erstwhile administration, expressing regrets that the present administration which is barely two months in office is being castigated for the conscious efforts it is making to curtail insecurity plaguing in the state.

The former Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to former Governor George Akume lamented that during Suswam’s tenure in the state, assassination of perceived opponents thrived, noting that that the Dean of the Faculty of Law of Benue State University, Barr. Gabriel Gwa Jande was allegedly murdered as well as Pastor Adoor among others in cold blood.

He said: “As far as we are concerned, the likes of Tsav and his cohorts describing the efforts of Governor Ortom in an attempt to get rid of weapons in the hands of wrong people as jamboree is most unfortunate.”
