Otukpo/Ohimini: I want to attend to medical issues - Ezekiel Adaji tells court

The pre-trial process at the elections petition tribunal for the 2015 general elections between Chief Nelson Alapa of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) and Chief Ezekiel Adaji of the PDP into the Federal House of Representatives for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency came to an end today before Justice Aderemi.

In a motion, counsel to Ezekiel Adaji bar. Ken Ikonne requested for further adjournment in other to attend to some personal medical issues as well as finding time to prepare a reply for an earlier motion filed by counsel to the plaintiff Chief Alapa.
The extension was however granted after due consultation with all parties concerned but with a warning that the tribunal has no further time to waste on frivolities.

Presenting his motion, lead counsel to chief Alapa, Bar Oba Maduabuchi requested that the tribunal grant him two days in other to tender document ed evidence of malpractice and falsification of results by INEC. and for the tribunal to critically examine them.

In a swift objection, counsels to both the 1st respondent (iNEC) and the 2nd (Ezekiel Adaji) argued that copies of these documents be made available for their perusal before such is tendered to the tribunal. But that objection was overruled.

Speaking further, Bar. Maduabuchi reminded the judge to put on record the extension of time as the stipulated 14 days pre trial period had elapsed in other to avoid any further issues that may crop up in the future.

Granting the request, justice Aderemi however adjourned the matter for hearing to Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 July 2015 bringing to an end the pre - trial Process.
Speaking shortly after the sitting, The plaintiff Chief Nelson Alapa expressed satisfaction with the process so far saying he believe that the tribunal will grant him a fair hearing after which justice will prevail.
