Immediate past senate president, David Mark may likely fly the presidential flag of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2019 as the party has zoned its presidential ticket to the northern part of the country.

Mark, had earlier affirmed that he would be the last man standing under the umbrella of the PDP despite its defeat in the last general election.

Embattled Mark, has been tipped by kinsmen to head the nation's highest political office.

Acting National Chairman of the former ruling party, Chief Uche Secondus, has said the party would not repeat the “mistakes” it made in 2015.

The PDP, commonly tagged the largest party in Africa, suffered serious defeat in the hand of the All Progressives Congress in the last election after it filled Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate.

Secondus said the party would not want to be beaten twice, hence the decision to zone the ticket to the north
