Benue State has recorded a three per cent drop in HIV/AIDS prevalence, Daily Trust gathered.
Director General of the National Agency for Control of AIDS (NACA), Professor John Idoko, made the disclosure during a visit to the Government House.
He told Governor Samuel Ortom that the HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in the state dropped from five to three per cent. Professor Idoko therefore urged further support for programs on the control of the virus so that it does not bounce back.

Responding, the governor pledged his administration’s commitment to work with development partners.
In another development, Ortom said his administration would map out a ten-year development plan for the state.
He spoke at the end of a two-day retreat organized for members of the state executive council.
He said he would harmonise the plan with the manifesto of the All Peoples Congress (APC).
