Mathias Oyigeya passes vote of confidence on Ortom, says, we don't need fire brigade structures

Dr. Mathias Oyigeya, a former governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has scored the first 100 days of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State high.

Oyigeya, a former Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, said critics should allow the governor lay a solid foundation for the already decaying state.

He warned them not to force the present government into fire brigade job.

The psychiatric was reacting to a recent report, which rated Nasir El Rufai as the best performing governor so far, while it described Ortom as a 'mere commissioner.'

My brother Japheth, the question should be, what is the motive behind this too early assessment ? Could it be that the organisation is creating an air of competition or generating an environment of disaffection between the governors ?

Because, a good administrator will tell you that 100 days is not clearly enough to finish a good plan on how to run a state. Besides, they seem to be analysing data that they did not collect. For us in Benue, we are very happy with what we have seen so far and we are quite positive that the best is yet to come.

We want a solid foundation upon which the 'new' Benue of our dream will be built on. We are not interested in ' wait and take ' or ' fire brigade ' structure. I want to use this medium to say that I pass vote of confidence on the Ortom-led administration in the first100 days in office. Happy weekend.
