All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Audu Ogbeh has written to Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom concerning allegations of fraud levelled against him saying he had never been involved in fraud for his over 39 years in politics.
The former chariman of the Peoples Democratic Party was reacting to some social media reports that him and the Caretaker Chairman of Ogbadibo local government were involved in fraudulent activities. The reports say the chieftain was given millions of Naira as settlement for his role in the appointment of the chairman, and also involving the inflation of the local government wage bill; claims the former PDP National Chairman has refuted and called on the Governor to investigate thoroughly and make his findings public.
Excerpts of the letter dated 2nd September 2015 reads:
“In furtherance of our party’s belief and resolve to combat corruption, I plead with you (Governor Samuel Ortom) to immediately investigate these allegations without fear or favour and make the result public. Please involve the EFCC, Police or any agency which might assist in the clearance of this allegation, and then we will follow up from there. I have never, in my 39 years in politics, been involved in fraud.”
