Former Governor Gabriel Suswam's aide-de-camp, ASP Dickson Pawa, has admitted receiving the sum of N58.8 million from the Benue state's Ministry of Finance for his principal when he was in power.
Pawa spoke on Tuesday when he testified before the Justice Elisabeth Kpojime-Judicial Commission of Inquiry sitting in Makurdi.

The commission heard that the money was received by power in two installments of N50m and N8.8m respectively on behalf of Suswam who held forte as governor at the time.
Pawa said the money was given to him by the then Permanent Secretary of the Finance Ministry, Mrs. Ruth Ijir for Suswam.

He, however, denied a documentary evidence which showed that he signed and collected another N50m separate from the one handed to him by the permanent secretary, stressing that the document tendered was actually a duplicate of the earlier money he received.

The members of the commission agreed with his submission after a close examination of the said document, consequent upon which it ordered the ministry of finance to account for the alleged missing N50million.
Governor Samuel Ortom had set up the panel to investigate the finances of the state under Suswam's administration.
