Benue South rerun: I was not chased away from Otukpo, my opponent jittery – Onjeh

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial candidate in the forthcoming rerun election in Benue Zone C, Mr. Daniel Onyirofie Onjeh has denied being chased from Otukpo on Saturday.Onjeh, said this in reaction to a media report claiming that his reception yesterday flopped as he was denied usage of St. Andrew’s College field.

The former student unionist, while describing the story as untrue and baseless, declared that his opponents were only jealous and jittery of the support he is getting from the people of the constituency.
He however averred that no amount of propaganda can make the people of the zone disembark from the train of change they have boarded.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Onjeh, a native of Orokam in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue state, said, “On sighting the momentum of the excited and jubilant mammoth crowd that received me from the Burnt Bricks in Otukpo, and their tumultuous voices in the procession which set his own very Ewolo Ward-the starting point, agog first; in an attempt to whittle down the devastating impact of this very successful Onjeh’s first outing, just before we arrived the Ochi’Idoma Palace, his camp quickly contracted one of their social media miscreants to issue a misleading story, citing: ‘Onjeh was denied venue and chased out of Otukpo with his rented crowd ‘
“Whereas, several correspondents of reputable and credible media outfits thronged Benue South to cover this event, perhaps because the event ended late they couldn’t file their stories yesterday, but certainly they will today and the world shall read and watch the actual report of the historic reception.
“I want to state categorically that there is no iota of truth in the story and should be discarded. No amount of propaganda and social media noise would force the good people of Benue South to abandon this train of change.

“It is evident that the opponents are only jealous and jittery of the support we are getting from our people who are apparently tired of their years of empty promises and underdevelopment,” he added.
