Driver in police net for stealing N350,000 in Benue

The Benue State police have dragged a driver to court over an alleged theft of three hundred and fifty-five thousand, seven hundred naira belonging to one Mr Paul Msongu of Logo Local Government area.

According to the police report, the driver Mr. Donald Mngutor also of Logo local government area on the 19th November 2015 allegedly attacked Paul Msongu at his home with his gang and carted away with the said sum.

The report says that, the culprit Mr. Donald was arrested at the spot with the help of the neighbours and in his possession was a locally made pistol with ammunitions. Some of his gang members were also arrested when they tried to flee abandoning their vehicles.

The arraigned suspects pleaded guilty of the offence and were ordered to be remanded in prison custody while the hearing was adjourned to 4th January next year.
