Ortoms sacks Ogbadibo LG chairman, Paul Adoyi

Written By Idoma Television on Friday, January 1, 2016 | 12:47:00 PM

Following series of protests and complaints of gross incompetence against the Caretaker Chairman of Ogbadibo local government council, Oduma Paul Adoyi; Governor Samuel Ortom has on Wednesday shown the chairman red card. Mr. Ojogbane Adoyi, who was sworn in by the Governor July last year became the worst Chairman the local government has ever produced.

"He would never call for meetings even in the face of crisis; he has brought rancour and disunity among the ranks and files of the party, and by extension, the stakeholders in the local government area; he has embarrassed this local government in many public functions where he intermittently fumbles due to lack of expression; in fact, he lacks public appearance and I wonder why he was chosen in the first place", Mr. Onoja John, an Ogbadibo APC faithful opined.

It could be recalled that a popular social activist and political gladiator from Ogbadibo LG, Yemi Itodo had made series of press statements where he called on the governor to show Mr. Adoyi the way out of office.

Other stakeholders and opinion leaders from Ogbadibo LG had also come hard on the erstwhile Chairman calling for his resignation shortly after he was rumoured to have siphoned N12m belonging to the LG.

"The removal of Mr. Paul Ojogbane Adoyiis the best thing that has happened to Ogbadibo LGA in recent times. We have a rerun election in Benue South and LG election is forthcoming which we can not afford to loose.

" With Mr. Ojogbane as the head of the council would spell doom for us at the polls ", an anonymous APC stakeholder said. Other members of the caretaker committee who have been removed include Hon. Tony Oodo, Supervisor for Works and Housing and Mrs. Cordelia Okpe, Supervisor for Education. The new caretaker Chairman and other members shall be sworn in by the Governor on Thursday next week.

Don't believe everything you read, this is just a bad campaign against Paul Adoyi, caretaker committee members tenure in Benue is 6months.and it expire on the 6th of January 2016 so His not been kicked out of office. If the allegations of the 12m embezzlement was true, the governor would have been removed him From office before it expiration and not wait till the end of the tenure
