Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche named Idoma ‘Voice’ of the Year

The editorial Board of Idoma Voice Newspaper in conjunction with Raw Gold Entertainment have named Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche as “2015 Idoma ‘Voice’ of the Year”.


A statement by the Chairman of the Award Committee, Barr. Paul Edeh, said in awarding Idoma Person of the Year investiture, the Editorial Board of the newspaper and the Committee looked at individuals, whose “public conduct and action helped to inspire hope for a better Idoma community.”

He said that although such award is not peculiar to Idoma Voice alone, the newspaper confers the award with every sense of responsibility. He noted that it is a known fact that other media agencies, International organizations also confer awards in recognition of excellence and service to humanity.

The statement quoted Barr Paul as saying that Dr. Enenche was selected  winner by the Award Committee out of the numerous Idoma personalities earlier nominated for the prestigious award for his impactful and enriching message of Salvation pervading all nooks and crannies of the Idoma Nation.  
In addition, the Committee took note of his developmental strides in Idoma Community with specific emphasis on his recent project in St. Francis College and Wesley High School all in Otukpo. His recent Crusade in Otukpo which saw the mighty hands of God descending mightily among the God-thirsty people of Idoma land which led to healings and salvation of many as well as his community developmental projects in Owukpa were also x-rayed which all added up to make him the most qualified for the prestigious category of the “Idoma Voice of the Year”. 

Other distinguished Idoma sons, daughters and organisations who clinched awards along with Dr Pastor Paul Enenche in other newly created categories are; Dr. Enyantu Ifenne who emerged as Idoma Amazon for her dogged commitment towards the development and education of the Idoma people.  
The Public Servant of the Year went to CP Wilson Inalegwu, the Commissioner of Police FCT for his efficient role in keeping the Federal Capital Territory safe for Nigerians. The Idoma Industrialist of the year  went to Mr. John Idoko for his investment strides in Idoma land and the Benue State Capital.  
The Idoma Sports Personality of the Year went to Mr Igoche Mark, the initiator of Mark D Ball competition held yearly in Otukpo which has brought Otukpo to limelight and his giant strides in the Nigerian Basket Ball scenery giving many Idoma sons and daughters to explore their talents.  

Furthermore, the Committee awarded the Diaspora Person of the Year to Mr. Emmanuel Ogebe who has continued to highlight the plight of the Chibok girls to the international community; through his efforts, some of the rescued Chibok girls where given scholarships to study abroad.  
The Idoma Entertainment Personality of the Year went to Prince Edwin Ochai, who has painstakingly invested so much in the Agila Carnival held yearly in Agila. Chief John Aboh, Chairman of Ecobank Plc bagged the Idoma Entrepreneur of the Year for his unapologetic employment of many Idoma sons and daughters in the banking sector. 

The Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko also emerged in the newly created category as the Most Idoma Friendly Governor of the Year.  His appointment of an Idoma special advisor in his cabinet is one good testament considered in awarding him in that category.  
Similarly, the Most Idoma Friendly Person of the Year went to Ordinary Dr Ahmad Isah, the President and Founder of Brekete Family fondly called “the Ordinary President” who used his radio programme to pressure the Police authority to reinstate an Idoma widow Auta Bako who was erroneously dismissed from the Police Force about 8 years ago. He has also continued to use his platform to draw the worlds attention to social injustice particularly the despicable state of the Otukpo Library.  

Other recipients in the newly created categories are Hon. Joe Ojobo emerged as the Most Outstanding Idoma Legislator, Idoma Broadcaster of the Year went Harriet Agbenyi of Channels Television, Idoma Youth Trail Blazer of the Year went to Arch Apeh Harrison Iwodi, Idoma Inventor of the Year went to Michael Friday, Most Outstanding Idoma Caterer of the Year went to Mrs Jane Onyechi Ikpeme of Queen Restaurant Otukpo, the Most Outstanding Idoma Student 2015 Agbo Odeh Hilary a  First Class Graduate of Benue State University who graduated with a CGPA of 4.57, while the the Most Vibrant Idoma Social Media Activist of the Year went to Andy Obeya.

Other categories which went to other organisations include: The Most Outstanding Idoma Social Club of the Year which went to Okpotuche Club, Lagos, the Most Outstanding Idoma Transport Company of the Year went tp Joe Silver Travels, the Idoma Hospitality Firm of the Year went to Haggai Suites, Otukpo.

In the Lifetime Achieve­ments Award category, twelve eminent Idoma sons and daughter were selected by the Editorial Board and the Award Committee. They include the owner of Children of Mary Home Otukpo, Mrs Rosemary Oganyi, former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Justice James Ogebe, Maj Gen Lawrence Onoja (Rtd), Maj. Gen Chris Abutu Garuba (Rtd), Distinguished Senator David Mark, Chief Audu Ogbe, AVM Monday Morgan Riku, the legendry musician Bongos Ikwue, Professor Jonah Isawa Elaigwu the erudite scholar, Prof Peter Olowu Obekpa, Prof Armstrong Adejo and Barr David Ibrahim Adulugba.

The Committee also selected 8 persons in three different categories  for Posthumous Awards. Posthumous Awards in Recognition of Contribution to Development of Idoma land went to Hon. Abutu Obekpa one of the unsung heroes of Idoma land who initiated the first road, light and water projects in Idoma land whose efforts also saw the emergence of JC Obande as the second Minister of the Federal republic of Nigeria. He also mentored Chief Audu Ogbe and Senator Ameh Ebute. Dr. Edwin Idoko Obe, the founder of Salem Hospital Otukpo. And Bishop Fidelis Ogah the first Catholic Bishop of Otukpo Diocese.  Posthumous Awards in Recognition of Sterling Leadership. Hon Ameh Ebenezer Odoh, Colonel Anthony Aboki Ochefu and Pastor Ina Omakwu.  While the Posthumous Awards in Recognition of  Outstanding and Courageous Journalism Enenche Akogwu of Channels Television and Ameh Jerry of Idoma Voice Newspaper.

Past winners of the Award included: Chris Morgan, Enenche Obonyilo Peters, Prof Shamsudeen Amali, Ogenyi Onazi, Iemelda J, Godshield Orokpo, Abel Success and ace Idoma singer Evang. Otulu Peter.

The Chairman of the Award Committee Barr Paul Edeh also announced that the award ceremony and the official launching of Idoma most sought after tabloid, Idoma Voice is slated to take place in Abuja on 6 March 2016 at the prestigious Sheraton Hotels, Abuja.
