Ortom Vs Tarzoor: Abounu reacts to court's judgment

Benue State Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu has expressed delight at the judgment of the Supreme Court which confirmed the validity of the April 11th governorship election in the state, describing it as victory for people of the state.

Reacting to the judgment which news was broken during the celebration of the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance day at the IBB Square, Engr. Abounu told journalists that it was a wake-up call and a motivation to do more to deliver quality service to the Benue people that overwhelmingly voted them into office, explaining that Governor Samuel Ortom and himself are committed to fulfilling every promise made to the people.

Engr. Abounu who lamented the endless waste of time and resources by both parties on the case even when the PDP governorship candidate, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor knew he had no case blamed certain political elders for instigating and urging him on on the fruitless enterprise..

He disclosed that Prince Tarzoor not only cAonceded defeat, he wrote, formally congratulating Governor Samuel Ortom on his victory and wondered why he later chose to be misled into pursuing what was clearly unrealizable.

He called on him and members of the opposition to join hands with them to develop the state, adding that “the state needs development more than anything else”.
