Benue South rerun: INEC wrong by declaring David Mark winner – @danielOnjeh

Written By Idoma Television on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 | 11:54:00 PM

The All Progress Congress candidate at the just concluded rerun in Benue South, Comrade Daniel Onjeh has stated that his opponent, David Mark was declared winner of the contest in error.

He therefore called on the electoral umpire to rescind its decision and declare the election inconclusive as it did in Kogi and Bayelsa.
A terse statement issued on Thursday and obtained by IDOMA VOICE, the vibrant former NANS/WASU president bemoaned INEC's double standards and selective justice!

He said, “The Commision laid 2 precedents they are bound by : (I) When marging of winning is less than cancelled/rejected votes, election is INCONCLUSIVE; Kogi and Bayelsa guber elections are Locus Classical. (ii) Sat Feb 20, 2016, Kogi-Central Senatorial rerun was declared inconclusive, and INEC reversed its decision 24 hrs later when it discovered more results & realized its 1st action was done in error, thus, declared the PDP Candidate winner.

“ The facts of Onjeh case: Porputed Marging of winning = 12 000, Cancelled Votes = 29 000, this is not in contention, aside complain of massive rigging, our Zonal Collation Agent strongly raised this issue before INEC at the Collation Center in Otukpo. Inexcapable fact: David Mark was declared in ERRO! We urge INEC to rescind its earlier position and declare Benue South Rerun Inconclusive!”
