It is time to remove David Mark - Alapa

Written By Idoma Television on Monday, February 15, 2016 | 1:09:00 AM

National officer of the All Progressives Congress and former member, representing Otukpo / Ohimini Federal Constituency, Hon Nelson Alapa has expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of political cohesion in the Benue-south Senatorial District.

Congratulating the governor, Samuel Ortom on his victory at the Supreme Court, Hon Alapa commended the governor’s giant strides in in the face of the many  challenges he inherited from the past administration.
On the  forth coming senatorial rerun, Alapa called the deputy governor, Benson Abounu to use his position to unite the fold and engage in a wider consultations with stake holders, especially foundation members of the party in the state to work together for the attainment of success in the poll.

On the rumours making the rounds over his planned defection from the APC, Alapa says, “This is laughable. I wonder how some people will be peddling me, defecting from the APC. I have been in the forefront of opposition for many years, how will I at this point after bringing people together, now defect from the party in government into the opposition? David Mark once said that the people of Benue-south are a minority and hence cannot afford to be in opposition and I stand by such statement more at thus point in time. So it will be unwise for any one at this time to peddle such rumours.”

He further called on all APC supporters no matter how disenchanted they may feel to rise to the occasion and deliver Daniel Onjeh. According to him, “it is critical to the survival of the zone.”

He further enjoined the people of Benue-south to prove to the world that David      Mark, who has over the years forced himself on the people and has never been subjected to democratic norms is very unpopular and no longer relevant in the true scheme of things. He said if the people unite and bury their hatchets by working for the victory of the party come February 20, they would have defeated an entrenched oligarchy.”
