Ortom orders demolition of 376 houses in Otukpo, others

The Benue State Urban Development Board has earmarked not less than 376 illegally built structures for demolition this month.
This was disclosed by the General Manager of the board, Mr. Richard Agwa today during an interview with newsman, Uza Daniel.

Mr Agwa said the demolition exercise which kicked off yesterday in several areas in Makurdi, the state capital will be extended to Gboko, Katsina-Ala,Otukpo, Okpoga and other towns within the state. 

He maintained that the exercise was aimed at achieving the urban renewal plan of the Governor Samuel Ortom-led administration to give towns in Benue a face-lift.

The General Manager therefore stressed that all construction, henceforth, must be done according to the master plan as approved by the board.
