The paramount ruler of Apa LGA, Chief John Antenyi has charged the immediate past President of the Senate, Dr. David Mark to always carry everyone along in his quest to make Idoma land a place to reckon with.

The Odejo K'Apa gave this charge in his palace at Ugbokpo on Monday when the Senator paid him a courtesy visit.
The Monarch enjoined the Senator to continue in his humanitarian gestures and developmental programmes which has helped given the Idoma people a place in the commity of nations.

While acknowledging the onerous effort of the Okpokpowulu k’Idoma for donating relief materials to the IDPs of Agatu and for touring the war ridden communities; Chief Antenyi also condemned in totality, the continous attacks on Agatu people and asked Senator Mark to help talk to the FG to urgently end the crisis so that the people could return to their homes and start a new farming season.

Responding, the former President of the Senate reiterated his commitment to the course of finding lasting solutions to the Agatu crisis, adding that whatever affects the people of Agatu also affects him.

Senator Mark also urged the people of Apa to be vigilant at all times and be their neighbour's keepers, saying "it's the turn of Agatu today, no one knows where the insurgents would visit tomorrow ".

The former Senate President had earlier addressed a mammoth crowd which converged on the village square in Ugbokpo.

He thanked the people of Apa for voting for him enmasse during the last rerun election and promised to do all within his powers to defend the mandate they collectively gave to him in a free and fair election.
