Barrister Paul, coordinator of One Idoma Initiative, the group that staged a peace protest against the killings in Agatu community on Wednesday, has explained why the lawmaker representing Agatu/Apa Federal Constituency, Adamu Entonu was absent.

Edeh was reacting to a story by Idoma Voice that Idoma sons at the national assembly of shunned the mother of all protests.
Speaking with Idoma Voice, Edeh said Entonu has been the only one in the forefront of the Agatu case.
He recalled that Entonu had sponsored a bill few days back, calling on is colleagues to add their voices against the endless killings in Agatu.
“Entonu was absent on a genuine reason. He called during our programme on Brekete to inform me that he was going to see the governor along side Prof Echoche where he later proceeded to Agatu to access the situation.

"I don’t know about other Idoma sons who are members of the National Assembly. We have people like Senator David Mark, Hassan Saleh, Ezekiel Adaji and Samson Okwu but none of them showed up to even address us. We heard that even Mark was at the national assembly yesterday for his inauguration but he never showed up.

“In fact, the last time I went to the national assembly to meet with some lawmakers over the Agatu issue, I met with my own lawmaker, Hassan Saleh, I was surprised when I greeted him in Idoma, he replied me in English and hurriedly moved away. It is not encouraging at all,” a disappointed Edeh told us on Phone.

The frontline legal practitioner hailed minister of agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe for taking out time to come and address the protesters.
“God bless the Minster hearing our voice, Chief Audu Ogbeh despite his busy schedule as a minister came down to address us and as well assure us of taking our message to the president,” Edeh added,
