RED ALERT! Hassan Saleh, Mad Lion about to set Idoma community on fire

Written By Idoma Television on Saturday, April 16, 2016 | 1:00:00 AM

There is an impending crisis in Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo federal constituency of Benue State over the imposition of Hassan Saleh, as the honourable member representing the area instead of Hon Christian Adabah Abah believed to have won in the 2015 national assembly election in the area.
Investigation by LEADERSHIP Weekend reveals that many indigenes of the area now live in fear because of the impending crisis resulting from the denial of Christian Abah, who many believe won the election, but is been prevented from taking his seat at the House of Representatives.

Yesterday protesters from the constituency under the aegis of Concerned Legal Practitioners of   Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu federal constituency of Benue State, blocked the main entrance gate into the National assembly, demanding that justice should be done.

The protesters numbering about 100 had placards with such inscriptions as, ‘Our Courts Must Be Respected’, ‘Speaker, Respect Our Rule of Law’, ‘Christian Abah Is Our Choice’, ‘Let The Rule of Law Be Followed’, among others.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, the leader of the group, Barrister Dominic Sunday Ochenehi explained that the Appeal Court seating in Abuja, which is presided by Justice Tani Yusuf had on February 8, 2016 upheld the elections   of Hon. Christian Adabah Abah   as the rightful PDP candidate that won the 2015 general elections against Hassan Saleh who lost at the level of the primaries.

Ochenehi disclosed that crisis currently looms in the constituency which might lead to loss of lives and property if the rightful person is not allowed to take his position at the National Assembly, adding that the people’s patience have been overstretched.

He continued: “We have written several letters to both the speaker and the senate president pleading with them to respect the Appeal Court judgment on this matter, but are surprised that up till this moment there is no response from them. We have come to the National Assembly for a peaceful protest.  We are peaceful protesters.

Saleh who presently occupies the position in the House of Representatives has never won any election to represent our people. In fact his continued stay at the National Assembly is a source of worry to the  electorates from Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo federal constituency who voted for Christian Adabah Abah.”
