Despite owing Benue State workers for over ten months, Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has claimed that people of the state are no complaining about non-payment of bailout funds.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Economy, Mr Bem Meladu said, while speaking during a radio programme, said the committee set up by the Governor to handle matters arising from the disbursement of the funds had not received any complaints in a long while.

“His Excellency in his wisdom has put together a committee to assist him insure that appropriate people be paid.

“The committee has been in place all these while. We have been putting it on the radio and other mass media that those whose are affected by non-payment should come and visit this committee to have their problems solved.

“Sometimes we will sit a whole week without having any single local government staff coming to put forward a complaint. As at now, there is nobody who has come up to cry that he has not been paid.” He concluded.

He said the 800 workers in Obi local government council who had not been paid were employed illegally.
