Confirming the development, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and senatorial candidate in the last rerun election in Benue South, Dan Onjeh said the governor was willing to pay the money to anyone who could provide vital information that could lead to the release of the clergyman.
Onjeh tweeted, "Benue State Gov. Samuel Ortom, pledges N 5 million reward to anyone who knows the whereabouts of kidnapped Rev. Fr. John Adeyi.
