Frontline contender for Chairmanship in Ado local government, Comrade James Oche has expressed deep shock over the discovery of the decomposing body of the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Otukpo, Rev. Fr. John Adeyi.
Comrade Oche who addressed newsmen in Makurdi yesterday said "the death of the reverend gentle man is a rude shock and a big loss to humanity".
According to him, " the unequalled contributions of Father Adeyi to the development of the Idoma nation through his INYILOWO foundation cannot be over emphasized".
He expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the Catholic Bishop of Otukpo, Bishop Michael Apochi, the entire Catholic faithful in Ado LGA and Benue State at large.
Oche who is the sole chairmanship candidate for the PDP in the forthcoming council poll in Ado also urged the Benue State government to expedite actions to ensure the perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to book.
Comrade James Oche equally used the opportunity to advise young people to stay away from all forms of social vices, describing kidnapping as alien to the hardworking people of Idoma.
He stressed that youth empowerment which is one of his cardinal agenda will take priority as soon as he assumes office as elected LG chairman of Ado in the September polls.
He therefore called on all well meaning sons and daughters of Ado extraction both at home and in diaspora to join forces with him in emancipating the land.
