Coordinator of Idoma People of Nigeria, IPN, Josephine Akioyamen has decried the refusal of former Senate President, David Mark’s refusal to speak in the Senate following his exit from the high stool.
Akioyamen wondered why Mark, who represents Benue South at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, has refused to air a word on the floor of the senate over the killings of Agatu people in his constituency since the inception of the 8th assembly.
She said ‘thunder will fire’ anyone who would want to make anyone believe that Mark is working behind the scene despite his long silence.

The ‘Iron Lady’ added that if truly Mark was working behind the camera as his followers would claim the reconstruction of Agatu should have started before now.
She vented her spleen via her Facebook wall thus:
Where is Senator David Mark voice on Agatu in the Senate? I have listened very hard. I don't hear it. Thunder fire anyone who would tell me he is working behind the scene to make sure that the Federal Government does better than it is doing right now on Agatu.
We didn't elect him to only work behind the scene but also to make our case on the floor of the Senate. There was never any motion raised about Agatu.
The profile of the devastation in Ukpabi Nimbo was raised higher than that of Agatu (even though the dead was five to one) simply because the Senator representing Ukpabi Nimbo never failed, or balked to push the Nimbo's cause with the bully pulpit he has been given by his people: the floor of the senate. I'm not happy with the state of things. I just have to voice it out.
Agatu is still in ruins 6 months after. Now that the political manoeuvring has stopped. The camera lenses are gone. Our people right there are left to their own devices. They are left to poverty, hunger, disease, and the weather.
They are sleeping in their roofless homes with no means of livelihood.
The Senator needs to step up his game.
