Agric Minister, Audu Ogbeh flags off distribution of ‘beniseed’ to farmers in Otukpo (PHOTOS)

The Hon. Minister OF Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh at the weekend flagged-off the distribution of sesame seeds this weekend at Otukpo Odu in Benue State.
Sesame also known as ‘beniseed’ was introduced to farmers’ cooperatives, with over 7,000 members in the locality.

A total of 400 bags, each containing five kilogrammes of sesame, were distributed to the farmers, each in a group of cooperatives.
Two members from each group were trained to, in turn, train others in their respective groups of about 15 each.
Chief Ogbeh counselled the farmers to make good use of the extension service providers to ensure productivity.
He said, “They will show you what to do and teach you the right application of fertiliser. So, let nobody use NPK 15-15-15 anymore”

Chief Ogbeh added that soil types in every part of Nigeria ‘ve been tested to know which fertiliser is best in each location for best yields
