The lingering budget controversies between the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara and erstwhile Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin degenerated at today’s sitting following a near breakdown of law and order when the matter alleging breaches of House Rule by Jibrin was mentioned.

In a motion sponsored by Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business, Hon. Orker Jev who drew attention of the House to spurious allegations made by former Chairman.

While making reference to House Rules, he pointed that Jubril as a ranking member of the House of Representatives knew well how to go about issues but was busy on the media dragging the House into a mess.

“Mr. Speaker, you remember that for quite sometimes, Hon. Jubril Abdulmumin has been busy making spurious allegations against your person and certainly members which in my considered opinion amounts to breaches of House Rules”, Jev stated.

At that point the session went rowdy in an orchestrated manner as if some have been detailed to derail the session when such issues were being mentioned.

However, Dogara had a hectic day calling for calm nerves, and eventually referred the matter to Committee on Ethics and Privileges amidst shouts.
