DAILY POST learnt that the heavily armed gunmen ambushed a fully loaded luxurious bus heading from Aba to Yola around 2am, few kilometres to the Pepsi bottling company in 9th Mile, Enugu State.
Our correspondent who ran into the passengers at the early hours of Thursday, observed that the victims, numbering over 50, were robbed of their money and other valuables.
The four tyres of the bus, belonging to a popular transport company, were deflated and the passengers were left stranded in the middle of the road.
Similarly, at Amala, close to Obollo Afor, our reporter also ran into another group of passengers who were attacked by suspected armed robbers.
Amala is few minutes from Orokam, a community in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State.
Some of the female passengers were said to have been sexually assaulted by the armed robbers.
The Enugu State Police Command could not be reached for comment at the time of this report.
