In a response to an interview granted to ITV by popular legal practitioner, Bar Alobo Joshua, a compatriot and also lawyer, Barr. Emma Ukera has explained why it would be hard for an Idoma or Igede native to pilot the affairs of Benue State in the nearest future.
His voiced his conviction thus:

“Prof Alobo ( as he’ll soon be) , I enjoyed your erudite submission as always but I beg to disagree with you regarding your passing comments concerning the” predicament” of the Idoma/Igede people concerning the seat of power in Benue State.

In the Second Republic, the Idomas had everything in their favor to produce the governor of the Food Basket State but bungled it. Ditto in 2007 when they fielded too many candidates thereby denying Mark Onoja the opportunity o becoming the first Benue State Governor
of Idoma origin. In fact , it was the Idoma people ( Ralph Igbago, Prof Jerry Agada, Ajene & Co) that turned around to ” donate” their votes at the primaries to GTS thus paving way for another Tiv man to succeed George Akume.
I therefore find your allegation that the Tiv people are taking Benue as their private estate only to enjoyed by their kith and kin to the exclusion of their neighbours in Zone C baseless. Chief Barr Alobo Joshua , democracy is a game of numbers and if you guys are able to present one candidate and support that candidate, you’ll stand a better chance of producing the next governor of the State.
But a situation where every Idoma man wants to be the governor or the one to break the perceived Tiv jinx , how can you with such a division within camp overcome the numerical supremacy of the Tiv people? . You are your enemy please, not the Tiv people.
