Read Governor Ortom’s message to Muslims on Eid-el-Kabir celebration

On the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Governor Samuel Ortom urges the people of the state to continue to make sacrifices in the face of the current economic downturn for a greater Benue.
Governor Ortom admonishes Muslims in particular to commit themselves to the Holy Prophet’s injunctions of piety, honesty, charity and generosity to the less privileged.

He says the virtues and values of selflessness, transparency, truthfulness and accountability will remain among the pillars upon which his administration is anchored as the state continues its journey towards economic recovery.

The Governor reaffirms the resolve of his administration to the stick approach of its amnesty programme and wants the people of the state to go about their normal activities without fear of molestation as security agencies have been mobilised to ensure hitch-free Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
He says the safety of lives and property in all parts of the state is the priority of the present administration, stressing the need for the people to support security agents with useful and timely information to enable them apprehend criminal elements and guarantee peace.

Governor Ortom believes that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and expresses optimism that the current security and economic challenges will be overcome to create the enabling environment for investment.

He restates the determination of his administration to address critical issues such as salaries and pensions owed workers as well as retirees.

Governor Ortom wishes the people of the state joyful Eid-el-Kabir.
