If Alekwu is real, it should also punish any man who commits adultery; not only women – Gospel singer, Steve Onminyi

Idoma gospel singer, Evang Steve Onmiyi has described Alekwu K’Idoma as a partial god.
The singer, whose latest album, Idoma Koladam is currently making waves across the country, wondered why the so-called Alekwu fails act whenever a man commits adultery but goes after the women folks whenever they err in their husband’s house.

Onminyi, who has been in active music ministration for over 24 years, said the mercy of God remains sufficient for anyone who is willing to accept Jesus as his/her Lord and personal savior.
In Idoma community, it is believed that any married woman who dares cheat of her husband will not escape the punishment of the gods (alekwu).
In some communities like Owukpa, once the woman cheats on her husband, the gods will descend on the husband, kill him and also go after the all male children in the family until the woman confesses.
Despite her confession, she would still be chased away from her husband’s house. She wont also be allowed to greet or touch her children (who survive the arrow of the gods) until necessary sacrifices are made. One of the sacrifices is called Idoko Ojuja. This sin has no forgiveness.
However, the reverse is the case for men.
However, the singer said in God’s good book, every sin is forgivable.
“I think Alekwu K’Idoma is partial. One wonder why the gods go after any married woman who defiles her husband’s bed but fails to act whenever the husband commits similar offence. Only the mercy of God is impartial. You can still come to him, it is sufficient for all,” he sang in his latest album, Idoma K’oladam.
