BREAKING: Over 15 killed as Fulani Herdsmen attack Idoma community

Several persons have been killed and many others injured after suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked Agadagba and Opidlo communities of Ohimini and Okpokwu Local Governments Councils, DAILY POST reports.
 

A certain Alex Ogwuche of Opidlo community in Okpokwu LGA was named to be among the victims killed by the rampaging herders in the latest attack.
According to a journalist, Apeh Peterhot, “At the moment, villagers of the Opidlo community who could not withstand the attack have fled to nearby communities and are currently taking refuge at Effoyo, Ugbokolo and Odessassa axis while those from Agadagba are currently counting their ordeals at Idekpa and other safe communities in Ohimini LGA. 

Apeh added that a team of fearless Catholic Reverend Priests from St. Peter Clever Parish, Olanyega, and Effoyo are on their way to Opidlo to take care of remains of Late Mr Ogwuche who was left unattended to after the attack.

However, when contacted, the Benue State Police PRO, Moses Yamu, said he was yet to be nitofied of the attack.

He promised to get back to this reporter when he confirmed the development.

This attack is coming barely three weeks after the state governor, Samuel Ortom asked the people of the community to allow Fulani herdsmen cohabit with them, saying that they should forgive and live peacefully with them.
