The Fulani Herdsmen resident in Idoma Community have confirmed the Monday night’s attack where scores of persons were killed in Agadagba and Opidlo communities of Ohimini and Okpokwu Local Government Councils.

IDOMA VOICE reports that several persons were killed in the latest attack allegedly championed by the herders in the area.

Speaking with our correspondent Tuesday morning, one of the leaders of the herdsmen in the area who gave his name as Hassan, claimed that the people of the community were he first to attack them.
He said, “We were grazing our cattle around a village somewhere in Edumoga on Sunday when these people heavily armed came. We asked them what was going on and they asked us to vacate their land, we agreed and promised to leave. So while we were going, one of them opened fire on my brother, Isah Illiya on the head and he died on the spot.
“My people got angry and went on a revenge mission Monday night. As we speak, over 200 of our cows are still missing. We have not seen many of our members since that attack,” he said.
Mohammed added that at the moment, the police are already in the communities to calm situation.
“The area commander has spoken with the Fulani Chief, Arbo Mohammed and they are trying to resolve the matter,” he added.
