How Ortom appointed Suswam’s ex-lawyer, Tony Ijohor as Benue’s new SSG

Fresh facts have emerged on the profile of Anthony Aondoakaa Ijohor (SAN), the newly appointed Secretary to the the Benue State Government.

Ijohor, who was a lawyer to the immediate past governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shortly after the 2015 general elections.

He said his decision was to enable him dedicate his energies to legal research.
Ijohor is a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria and an active member of the ruling PDP.

He has been Suswam’s lawyer and had won several cases for the governor, including the certificate forgery suit that was filed by Prof. Steven Ugbah, against the governor.


Born in Gboko Benue state. He was the former special adviser to Governor of Benue Stare Gabriel Suswam from 2007 – 2009.
