Governor Samuel Ortom Vs reality and 2019

Published

It is sad and absolutely regrettable that the Benue State Governor, Samuel ortom is yet to rise to the stature and responsibility of state leadership, but is instead engaged in plainly ludicrous and utterly detestable conduct that trivializes the fragile Democratic dispensation that civil servants had made near -superhuman sacrifices to enthrone. This was what convinced the PDP leaders that their party was so big and so invincible that it was destined to rule the country for at least 60 years in the first instance. The leaders of the party then went on to make arrogance and impunity the hallmarks of what they understood to be democracy and constitutional government.

Today, it is APC. And I wish to state categorically that Apc in Benue State have no sellable candidate that can easily win any election come 2019. This is because Samuel ortom has successfully destroyed the party by his anti- democratic conduct and very poor performance in governance.

His deliberate refusal to pay salaries of civil servants and pension to pensioners has weakened and worsened the situation. Ortom can not be using God’s name while civil servants who took the pains to bring him to power die in abject poverty.

How can a governor illegally sack about 500 genuine civil servants who are almost close to their retirement age and be using their salaries to expand his private Oracle businesses? One cannot understand how ortom seems to be so godly and yet so wicked, evil, heartless and kleptomaniac. It is absurd that he comfortably and conveniently combining both roles excellently.

It is time to assess the efficacy of religion in shaping our values profile as a people. Ortom needs a very deep introspection and possibly, paradigm shift in the way he thinks he is worshipping God. His disposition and manifestation is hardly reflective of the true teachings of the religion he professes.

The APC in the state committed some technical mistakes by bringing a personality like ortom into power. This is a serious calamity my readers, and so I think the only solution to this problem is doing away with Ortom “the church Bishop” and in turn bringing a competent hand who can tackle the problems of Benue people without a blame game.

If not, how on earth can Benue, a state with qualified intellectuals, choose to vote in somebody without a conventional qualification, a grossly incompetent man to head the state? This is a very big shame on us as a people.

If ortom cannot pay ordinary salaries and pension, what more can he do as a governor of the state? This is very slavery. Salaries are fundamental human rights and must be respected, but failure to pay, amounts to slavery or servitude. The solution is simple, ignore the issue of Ortom come 2019.
Tsav Mgbakpa rests his case.
