Ortom reportedly orders removal of ‘Thank You Suswam’ inscription from Benue schools (PHOTOS)

The Benue State government has reportedly ordered the removal of an inscription of ‘Thank You Suswam’ crested on the wall of a school in Benue State.

According to a citizen reporter and stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Jila Barnabas Earlier today, all schools within the Makurdi metropolis having the inscription of “Thank You Suswam” were ordered to remove the inscription by the state government.

According to him, one of the schools visited precisely LGEA, wurukum, some teachers and pupils of the school were seen chiseling out the inscription while cement, water and sharp sand were seen been mixed to cover the chiseled part of the fence.
He said, “Upon inquiry by my source, a senior teacher in the school who refused to be mentioned by name said an the order came in this morning from above that the ” Thank You Suswam ” inscription be removed.
“These schools have been with these inscription for almost two years of this government in power, is it anger from the unconditional release of Dr Gabriel Suswam from detention or it’s pettiness of an idle government that lacks the ideas to govern well?”
However, checks by this newspaper show that an inscription of ‘Ortom for You’ inscribed on all SDGs projects in the school are still intact.
Meanwhile, a native of the state, Sontyo Jimmy, said writing names of politicians on projects built with public fund is an insult.
He said, “It is an insult to the people for those holding public office to place their names on public infrastructure. I pay tax and contribute to this process. Our Governor must be told not to repeat such pathetic history.”
Efforts to speak with the governor Press Secretary, Tever Akase for comment were not successful.
