The recent anti-grazing bill passed into law by the Benue State House of Assembly and accented to by the Executive Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, has received applauds from a group of youths in the state, under aegis of Benue State Youths Campaign for Transparency and Good Governance.

The group spoke through its National President, Comrade Mark Uloko  yesterdy in Lagos, calling on the Executive Governor of the state Dr. Samuel Ortom to as   matter of urgency, start full implementation of the law in the state for the sake of the safety of the good people of Benue State and their farm lands.

Comrade Mark who is also the Publisher of Hero International Magazine  made the call in reaction to the recent threat by Fulani Kinsmen popularly known as Meyitti Allah who since the accent of the bill by the state governor, have continued to stage different showdowns with the Benue State government, saying that they would ensure that the law does not work.
He described the continuous threat by the group as anti-progress and unacceptable.

“As concerned youths of Benue State, we applaud our governor, His Excellency Dr. Samuel Ortom for taking such a bold step in bringing the law to be in the state at this crucial time the state is facing security challenges, especially the continuous clashes between Fulani herdsmen and Benue farmers.

“We are using this medium to advise the Meyitti Allah group not to go crazy over the bill as the Governor has already assured the people that the law is not targeted at any particular person or persons, but for the benefit of all parties in the state.
The Meyitti Allah group should advise their men to obey the laws of the land (Benue State in particular) if they want to continue to stay in our state.

“The only legitimate venture we have in Benue State is farming, and a situation where by our people cannot go out to do their normal businesses because of the fear of attack from Fulani herdsmen is unacceptable.”

Comrade Uloko also called on the Federal Government to deploy special security squads to the state to protect the lives of Benue citizen as the state is ready to feed the country through its sufficient farm produce which has recently increased.

On the other hand, he charged citizens of the state both at home and in the Diaspora to support the innovative and bold ideas of the state government led by Dr. Samuel Ortom, especially in the areas of agriculture, transparency and good governance.
