Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has expressed shock and grief over the demise of the former head of State, General Sani Abacha’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Chief David Attah.

Senator Mark described late Attah as a fine professional and a distinguished gentleman who believed in Fairness, Justice and Rule of Law.
In his condolence to the Government and the people of Benue State over the death of Attah, Senator Mark lamented that he lost a reliable and dependable brother who stood to be counted when it mattered.

He remarked that Attah will be remembered for his steadfastness and loyalty to his fatherland adding that he was “a fearless Nigerian who worked for the peace, unity and progress of the nation.”

He remarked that Attah stood for the truth at all times and called a spade its rightful name no matter whose ox was gored.

As a journalist and public commentator, Mark pointed out that “Attah was a voice for the voiceless and defender of the oppressed and vulnerable in the society.”

Whichever side of the divide one views the life and times of Attah, Mark noted that “he left his foot print on the sand of time.”

He therefore told the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that Attah lived an accomplished life worthy of emulation.

He prayed that God in His infinite mercies grant the deceased eternal rest.
