The Idoma National Youth Forum has decried the marginalization of Igede ethnic group from scheme of things in Benue South Senatorial district.
The youth group said it was high time an Igede man is allowed to represent the zone at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

A communiqué issued at the end of its general Assembly Meeting held at Government Modern Secondary School, Otukpo on Sunday, the group opined that Oju Local Government should be allowed to produce the next Benue South senator.
IDOMA VOICE observed that Senator David Mark has been the occupant of the seat since the return of democracy in 1999.
The communiqué signed by Peter Obochi, INYF President, observed that the old Old Okpokwu and Otukpo have enjoyed the Senatorial seat right from the days of the creation of Benue State with no Igede man in the list
The forum resolved as follows:
1. That the Senate of Benue South Senatorial District be zoned to the old Oju division in the nearest election.
2. That the old Okpokwu and old otukpo have enjoyed the Senatorial seat right from the days of the creation of Benue State.
3. That in pursuit of the Idoma political position  in the present Benue State, it is appropriate for the Senatorial seat to be officially zone to the Igede people which shall prove our equalization in an egalitarian society to further pursue the governorship seat of the State.
4. That the Idoma/Igede youth shall mobilise support for any qualified Igede son or daughter  who is willing to serve in this capacity.(Old Oju)
5. That it will amount to injustice if we continue to exclude the old Oju from the political calculation of the Senatorial seat.
6. The entire Igede people are advised to source for a credible candidate who shall fill in the Senatorial seat in the nearest election.
7. That young men and women of credible character of the Idoma extraction should fully participate in political activities and as well seek elective position as the NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN bill has been passed by the National Assembly.
8. That this communique is made for the interest of the existing peace in Idoma land and to further maintain it.
